This collection contains materials pertaining to coursework at Iowa State College, including tests, examination blue books, class assignments, lab reports, homework, as well as records concerning the teaching profession. Series A contains biographical information compiled by Martha's nephew, Dennis Wendell. Included is a brief history of her life and a listing of students who attended her classes at the Evergreen School. Series B documents the classes Robison attended while at Iowa State, such as Geology, Educational Theory, History, Industrial Science, Mathematics, and Physics. Included are class notes, quizzes, experiments, and homework. Series C documents Robison as a rural school teacher in Iowa and contains guidelines, lesson plans, and materials relating to the classroom. The remainder of the collection contains valentines and a photograph (reproduction) of Martha.

Robison, Martha Van Patter, 1905-

Iowa State University alumna. Martha Van Patter Robison was born in Ames, Iowa on 5 August 1905. After a severe bout of polio, Martha graduated from Ames High School and graduated from Iowa State College with a B.S. (1928) in Mathematics. She taught at the Evergreen School, southeast of Ames. In 1936 she married Forest Arthur Robison (1901-1973) and retired from teaching to manage their farm. She currently resides in a Nevada nursing home. From the descriptio...
